How Spray Drying Works in Lithium Battery Production:

  1. Preparation of Slurry: The materials (such as lithium salts, metals, or polymers) are mixed into a liquid slurry, typically with solvents.

  2. Atomization: The slurry is atomized using a nozzle or rotary atomizer inside the spray dryer. The tiny droplets are created and sprayed into a drying chamber.

  3. Drying: Hot air is injected into the chamber, which evaporates the solvent, leaving behind solid particles.

  4. Collection of Powder: The solid particles are collected at the bottom of the chamber. These powders are then further processed to ensure they meet the desired specifications for battery production.
