Some flavor ingredients cannot take heat at all: probiotic blends, enzyme-treated savories and delicate fruit pulps degrade the moment they are overheated. For these materials a spray drying machine must dry by evaporation speed rather than by brute-force temperature. The compact LPG-25 uses a short, cool drying path to protect the ingredient.
Heat-sensitive ingredients lose function, not just flavor. Vitamin C, enzymes and live cultures can drop by half after a conventional hot dry.
Customers see color shift from bright to dull brown, a classic sign of thermal damage and Maillard browning.
Once a batch is over-dried, there is no way to recover the lost activity, so the whole production run is scrapped.
Thermal degradation follows time and temperature together. Even at a moderate inlet of 150°C, a droplet held long enough will overheat as its moisture falls and evaporative cooling fades.
Because the final drying stage removes bound water slowly, that is exactly when the particle is most vulnerable and least protected by cooling.
Poor atomization makes it worse: large droplets need longer to dry, so they sit in the hot zone far longer than the fine mist around them.
The LPG-25 keeps the drying path short and the outlet temperature low, so the particle never reaches the degradation threshold even as it dries.
A fine-mist atomizer produces small, uniform droplets that finish drying quickly, cutting the vulnerable late-stage exposure to a minimum.
All product-contact surfaces are SUS316L, which resists the acidic and saline feeds that attack cheaper steels and can leach metal ions into sensitive flavors.
An adjustable PLC recipe lets you dial a gentle curve for each ingredient and store it, so a sensitive batch is never run on a harsh default setting.
It suits vitamin premixes, enzyme preparations and probiotic carriers where activity must survive the dry.
It is widely used for fruit and vegetable pulps, where color and nutrients are the reason buyers choose a powder over a liquid.
It also serves botanical and herbal extracts, where thermolabile actives would be destroyed by a hot tower.

Start from your ingredient's degradation temperature. If activity drops above 70°C, cap the outlet temperature in that range and accept a slightly lower feed rate.
Pick a nozzle that matches your viscosity. Thin solutions do best with a rotary atomizer; thick, sticky pastes need a two-fluid nozzle with an air assist.
Size the unit so the required evaporation is comfortably inside its range, never at the ceiling, so you keep a margin for gentle operation.
For the most fragile cultures, ask about a chilled dehumidified air option to lower the drying temperature further without slowing throughput.
A: With a low outlet temperature and short residence time, survival rates above 80% are achievable for many probiotic strains. Provide your strain and we will advise on the exact curve.
A: SUS316L is recommended for acidic or saline feeds because it resists corrosion and avoids metal-ion pickup that can discolor sensitive flavors.
A: Yes. The PLC stores multiple recipes, so you can switch from a heat-sensitive program to a standard one without mechanical changes.
A: Typically 20-50% solids. Lower solids dry faster but cost more energy per kilogram of powder; we will help balance the two.
Send us your ingredient's maximum safe temperature and target throughput, and we will configure a spray drying machine that protects activity while meeting your capacity.
