Centrifugal Spray Drying Machine LPG-100 Uniform 40-120μm Powder Particle Size Distribution Wheel

LPG-100 Spray Drying Machine with Uniform 40-120 μm Particle Size

Particle size is the quiet variable behind almost every powder complaint. A wide spread of fines and lumps causes segregation, poor flow and unpredictable dosing. A properly tuned centrifugal spray drying machine controls size at the source, so the powder leaving the tower is already uniform.

The Problem Customers Report

A wide particle distribution means fines dust everywhere while coarse lumps lag in blends, so the final product is inconsistent from scoop to scoop.

Customers using volumetric dosers find the same setting delivers different weights, forcing frequent recalibration.

Lumpy, uneven powder also dissolves slowly, which is unacceptable for instant or reconstituted products.

Why It Happens

Particle size is set by the atomizer, not by the drying stage. A worn or wrongly sized wheel throws a ragged mist, creating a mix of very fine and very coarse droplets.

High-viscosity feeds resist atomization, producing large droplets that dry into coarse beads while the surrounding mist stays fine.

Inconsistent feed pressure and temperature drift the mist, so the distribution wanders from batch to batch.

Our Solution

A variable-speed centrifugal wheel atomizer lets you tune the mist to a tight 40-120 μm band and hold it, cycle after cycle.

The wheel is dynamically balanced and driven through a variable-frequency inverter, so speed stays constant even as feed viscosity shifts slightly.

A controlled feed system with a magnetic filter and steady back pressure keeps droplet formation stable, which is what actually locks the distribution.

Pulsed air-hammers release fines cleanly so they do not agglomerate on the wall and skew the final size analysis.

Application Scenarios

It fits instant beverage and dairy powders where fast, even dissolution depends on uniform particle size.

It suits chemical and agrochemical powders where dosing accuracy and flow determine product performance.

It is also used for enzyme and detergent powders, where consistent granulation controls dust and handling.

How to Choose the Right Model

Define your target mean size first. Instant drinks usually want 80-120 μm for fast wetting; fine chemical powders often sit nearer 40-60 μm.

Higher wheel speed gives finer particles; lower speed gives coarser ones. Choose a unit whose speed range brackets the size you need with margin on both sides.

Feed solids and viscosity move the size, so ask for a trial to confirm the exact wheel speed and solids for your recipe.

If your feed is very viscous, consider a pressure nozzle or a hybrid system rather than fighting the wheel.

FAQ

Q: How uniform can the particle size be?

A: With a balanced wheel and stable feed, most customers hold a distribution span (D90/D10) of about 2-3, centered on any target between 40 and 120 μm.

Q: What controls the particle size most?

A: Wheel speed and feed viscosity. Doubling wheel speed roughly halves droplet size, so speed is the primary tuning knob.

Q: Can I change size without changing hardware?

A: Yes. The inverter lets you shift wheel speed to move the mean size within the working range of the same atomizer.

Q: Do you provide a size analysis report?

A: Yes. On commissioning we can run a laser-diffraction sample of your powder and document the D10, D50 and D90.

Tell us your target mean size and solids, and we will spec the spray drying machine and atomizer setting to hold that distribution in production.
